How to get glowing skin?
Ahaa the question of this Millenium and everyone wants to know the secret.
Every women in this world strives to achieve that flawless blemish free skin be it a home engineer who give their heart and soul to the make a house a home and strive for betterment of the lovely people in it or the working women who pour their energies to make things work.
Often they neglect the most important part of them i.e. their self. The most important person in our life is our self and taking care of ourselves will help us achieve our goals more confidently and graciously.
I learnt this from my grandmother who was a working women and a home engineer. Seeing her worked full time plus taking care of 5 kids and also aging graciously made me marvel if she was some sorts of Super Women.
She always said that home comes first but that does not mean that we need to ignore ourselves.
Today I am going to share a secret with you about how she managed to look so flawless even with so many responsibilities.
I guess she was a flag barrier of Ayurveda and home remedies she had so many NUSKA ( remedies ) under her belt that she could have wrote a book.
So Now Lets discuss the herbs in this recipe
Almond – Badam
I still remember when I was a child our mother use to give us soaked almonds every morning to improve our brains. I don’t know how much did it work then but when I got into teen age it came in very handy and a regular skin care routine. It helped improve my skin tone and moisturize my skin.
It is a natural source for retinol which stimulates the production of new cells and rejuvenated our skin from within.
It has Vit E with is antioxidant hence an anti ageing agent. It prevents cell damage from UV rays of the sun.
It also has omega 3 fatty acids which prevents skin from drying out and also prevents premature aging.
Zinc is another important nutrient that heals out our skin and facial scars.
Dried Rose Petals –
Roses are the oldest form of skin treatment used since ages. It has so many benefits to the skin right from soothing our skin to toning and moisturizing.
It is rich in Vitamin C hence it helps us to combat skin stress and even out skin tone.
It hydrates the skin and soothes skin inflammation. It also helps reduce tanning on the skin thus reducing pigmentation spots.
Palash Flowers / Tesu Flowers
Palash Flowers also known as Tesu Flowers are state flower of Uttarakhand.
These are beautiful red yellow flowers they are also known as “Flame of the Forest” . It is used in Ayurveda since ancient times. It is used in skincare for its astringent properties which helps to combat pimples, skin disorders.
It is antioxidant, antimicrobial, anti inflammatory, antiseptic and astringent therefore a must in herbal skincare.
It is a rich source of sulphur which is perfect for skincare. It purifies the skin tropically from environmental stress. It is an antioxidant and astringent. Thus helps in controlling pimples on the skin.
How much every I talk about this herbal beauty is less. It is such a prized herb for Ayurveda, Unani, Sidda, Homeopathy, Sowa Rigpa and many such medicine systems.
It is the must have in every region of Indian homes. I have spoken so much about this herbs in my other skincare blogs too.
It is a natural anti bacterial agent and helps skin conditions such as eczema, psoriasis, blackheads and acne.
It is also a natural moisturizer which helps treat dryness and nourish skin cells and restores skin pH balance.

Now that we have discussed about herbs lets jump into the recipe for this gorgeous
Intensive Glow Facial Massage Oil Serum
25 grams – Almonds
25 grams – Rose Petals
25 grams – Palash Flowers
25 grams – Neem Leaves
400 ml – Olive Oil
200 ml – Almond Oil
Make sure all the ingredients are super dry as it can spoil the oil serum.
Measure all the ingredients properly
Add all the dry ingredients into a glass bottle or a steel container like I did in the video.
Since I have used a wine maker to do my infusion however it is not compulsory.
Just add everything in a Glass bottle and mix it properly.
Now for cold infusion leave it in the sun for 4 weeks or on a double boiler for 4 hours to make this infusion.
Once completely infused strain out the herbs. You can compost these herbs.
If you wish you can add 5 grams of Vitamin E to this concoction. It will improve the shelf life of the oils as it is an antioxidant.
Then just bottle it up and your Oil Serum is ready.
How to use.
- Wash your face at night and pat it dry with clean towel.
- Take few drops of this oil on your finger tips.
- Massage your face with the oil in upward direction to lift your face up.
- Make sure you cover face, neck shoulder, back of the neck for best results.
- Next day you can take bath as usual.
- If there is excess of oil on the face use a face towel with warm water and keep it on the face for sometime and clean the face and remove excess oil.
- If you have body acne and scars on the body you can use this oil there too.
- You can use it on your hands too if they are sun tanned.
- You can also use this as body oil for Abhyanga Massage.
Make sure you do a patch test before use.
