First we will discuss the cold infusion method.

Cold infusion of Amla.

Ingredients:

Dried Amla : 250 grms or 1 cup

Coconut oil or sesame oil : 1 cup

Steps:

  1. Use a glass jar to make this infusion
  2. Container should be enough big that it can store oil and dried amla together.
  3. Fill the container with dried amla.
  4. Now add coconut oil or sesame oil as per the recipe on the top of the amla.
  5. You can cover the mouth of the container with a cotton cloth and the put the lid.( this is an optional step.
  6. Once the lid is on keep this mixture in the sun or on your window sill for 30 days.
  7. Once the infusion is complete you can either remove the amla pieces by straining the oil or just let it be there and bottle it up (I like to leave the amla in the oil itself for further infusion.

Tadaa!!!

Your Amla Herbal Hair Oil is ready to use.

Hot infusion with fresh Amla

The season to buy fresh Amla is from January to April. It is found in Indian local markets and is very cheap so we buy heaps of it. Some are dried and kept for the whole year, some are converted to candies to nibble on ad some are converted into infusion for the whole year.

Ingredients:

Fresh Amla : 250 grms or 1 cup

Coconut oil or sesame oil: 250 grms or 1 cup.

Steps:

  1. Wash the fresh amla with clean water and then allow it to dry a little so all the excess water is removed. You can wipe it as well.
  2. Cut the amla into small pieces and remove the stone or seed.
  3. Grind this amla in a grinder do not add water to this process.
  4. Now take the said measurement of oil in a heavy bottom container.
  5. Add this amla paste to it and allow it to simmer. Remember you do not have to boil the mixture it should just simmer and infuse.
  6. Let it be there for around 15 – 20 minutes. Make sure all the water is evaporated.
  7. Turn off the flame and let the oil cool. You can leave it over night for further infusion.
  8. Now strain the oil through a muslin cloth.
  9. Keep it in a glass jar for further storage.

Tadaa!!

You Hot infusion from Fresh Amla Herbal Oil is ready.

How to use Amla Herbal Hair Oil

Method

I suggest to use Amla Herbal Hair Oil two times a week

Warm the oil in a bowl.

Make small partitions of hair and with the help of cotton balls spread it out evenly on the whole scalp. All the roots of hair should be soaked in the oil nicely.

With the help of your finger tips apply gentle pressure and massage your scalp. This action will improve the blood circulation of the scalp.

Now leave it on for 2 hours if possible over night and then wash your hair with normal shampoo and conditioner the next day.

Optional step: you can use warm towel to cover your hair for 15 mintues this will help oil to penetrate further and will relax your body from stress and fatigue.

Hope these steps help you to have a relaxing night and a good nights sleep.
